Two-time winner of the Russian Federation State Prize

After graduating from the Slonov Theater School of Saratov in 1986 and the Moscow Art Theatre Studio School in 1990, Mr. Mironov joined Oleg Tabakov's Studio Theatre. There he starred in a number of productions, most notably in The Passions of Bumbarash and Another Van Gogh. As guest star at the Moscow Art Theatre, he took the role of Treplev in The Seagull and appeared as George Pigden in No. 13, the Russian adaptation of Ray Cooney's Out of Order. Mr. Mironov also starred in several legendary productions staged by leading European masters, such as Peter Stein's Oresteia and Hamlet, Declan Donnellan's Boris Godunov, and Eimuntas Nekrosius' The Cherry Orchard. His work in the theatre has brought him the International Stanislavsky Award, two Golden Mask National Awards, and three Crystal Turandot National Awards, among others.

Mr. Mironov's spectacular cinematic career has included such internationally acclaimed films as Nikita Mikhalkov's Burned by the Sun and Burned by the Sun 2, Aleksei Uchitel's Dreaming of Space and His Wife's Diary, Andrei Konchalovsky's House of Fools, Aleksandr Mitta's Lost in Siberia and Valery Fokin's Metamorphosis. His lead in the television adaptation of Dostoyevsky's The Idiot garnered him the Golden Nymph Outstanding Actor of the Year Award at the Monte Carlo Film Festival. He is also the recipient of every national film award many times over.

In 2006 Mr.  Mironov founded the Yevgeny Mironov Theatre Company, producing and playing the title role in Kirill Serebrennikov's production of Beaumarchais' Figaro.

As of December 2006 Mr.  Mironov is the artistic director of the State Theatre of Nations, where he also stars in Alvis Hermanis' international hit production of Shukshin's Stories and, most recently, Eimuntas Nekrosius' Caligula. He is co-founder of the Artist Support Foundation, the artistic director of the TERRITORIß International Theatre Festival, and a member of the Arts and Culture Council at the office of the President of the Russian Federation.

In addition Evgeny Mironov starred in such well-known performances as: Hamlet (title-role) and Oresteia (Orest) by Peter Stein, Boris Godunov (Impostor) by Declan Donnellan, The Karamazovs and Hell (Ivan) by Valery Fokin, The Cherry Orchard (Lopakhin) by Eimuntas Nekrosius.

He also played Treplev till recently ( in The Seagull (directed by Oleg Efremov), and still plays George Pigden in ¹ 13 (directed by Vladimir Mashkov) and Porfiriy Golovlev in The Golovlyov Family (directed by Kirill Serebrennikov) at the Moscow Art theatre.

In 2006 he founded his own Eugeni Mironov theatre company and played the title role in its first production, Figaro (directed by Kirill Serebrennikov).

Since December 2006 Eugeni Mironov is the artistic director of the Moscow Theatre of Nations.

He is also the member of the Russian Federation President?s Art and Culture Council.

Eugeni Mironov was awarded greatest prizes for the roles of prince Myshkin in the serial Idiot after Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel and of Gleb Nerzhin in the serial The First Circle after Alexander Solzhenitsyn novel.

For the roles of George Pigden in ¹ 13 and Porfiry Golovlev in The Golovlyov Family Eugeni Mironov was awarded two Crystal Turandot prizes, for role of Treplev in The Seagull the Stanislavsky International prize. Among his other awards are Nika, Kinotavr, Kumir (Idol), Sozvezdie (Constellation), Baltiysksya zhemchuzhina (The Baltic Pearl), Triumph, prize of Geneve International film festival and the State premium of the Russian Federation.
