Roman Dolzhansky was born in 1966. Studied at the Moscow State Institute of Steel and Alloys, after that studied and graduated in theatre studies from Russian Academy of Theatre Art (GITIS). Worked as editor at the Moscow obsever magazine. Since 1995 is reporter and since 1998 staff writer in Kommersant newspaper. Since 1998 is artistic director of NET (New European Theatre) festival. Was chairman of the experts? council of the Golden Mask award in 2003 and 2004. Member of the Stanislavsky International prize?s jury since 2001. Was awarded with Chaika in 2003 and Alexander Kugel prize in 2004.
